Leaving on a sad note is not what I wanted ?

Really sad to leave the club (Brooklands) Ive on the whole loved since moving to Cobham 15yrs ago, lovely staff and friends I have met I will always cherish. The club handling of membership on the other hand is another matter. Ive always spoken highly of good service at the club and not so much on the areas for improvement. I approached the club to share that Id been furlough and as such had to reassess my outgoings to which I was told that they would honour but that I had to prove it first, taken aback by this I did and shared my dismay. They offered that I take a three month grace period (the club was shut in any case due to covid) or leave instantly. I took the latter due to their lack of empathy. I asked if I could retain just a couple of my guest passes (having earned these prior to lockdown) and was told absolutely not and that as soon as you cancel, you are not entitled to them! This would not have been the case had we not be in a pandemic, I challenged this again on email and was told, sorry no you cant have any (I leave the club with 7 passes on my account) they said my membership will end on 1st April. Ordinarily notice period allows time in which to use them, given this has not been possible they are refusing to make any allowances. Its a shame as I would be not only be using the gym facilities but likely spend money in the cafe etc and introducing potential new members to the club. What a shame DL have no heartbeat at this time and seem to run their business as an engine instead - very sad, goodbye and good luck x
